Japan in no position to make irresponsible remarks on China's reunification

15/11/2025 6:22
Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for China's State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, stressed on Friday that Japan and its current leader are in no position to make irresponsible remarks on the Taiwan question, let alone issue threats and attempt to obstruct China's cause of reunification.

Reiterating that Taiwan is sacred territory of China, the Taiwan question is China's internal affair, and resolving the Taiwan question and achieving China's complete reunification are a shared aspiration of the more than 1.4 billion Chinese people, Chen emphasized that how to resolve the Taiwan question is entirely a matter at the Chinese people's own discretion and brooks no interference by any external force.

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi recently said that the Chinese mainland's "use of force on Taiwan" could constitute a "survival-threatening situation" for Japan. Her remarks imply the possibility of armed intervention in the Taiwan Strait. Despite China's serious and protests, Takaichi still refused to change course and take back what she had said.
