Russian drones, missiles attack Kyiv, cause damage

Russian drones and missiles attacked Kyiv early on Saturday, officials said, with explosions sounding in different districts of the city.

The head of Kyiv's military administration, Tymur Tkachenko, said at least one apartment building had been damaged in the attack, launched after midnight (2200 GMT). He said drones had struck an area in the city centre and in the eastern suburbs.

Air defence units were operating in the capital.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said emergency medical crews had been dispatched to four city districts.

A picture posted online showed an apartment building on fire. Reuters could not independently verify the report.
