An explosion at a private university on Monday left one person dead and several others injured, according to Malaysian authorities.
The fatality was a 24-year-old contractor who was working on an air-conditioning unit in the cafeteria of HELP university while another nine were injured, including students, cafeteria workers and other contractors, Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said in a statement.
"The victims sustained various injuries, including burns and injuries from flying debris, as the explosion was powerful enough to damage the walls in the affected area," he said.
