Egyptian, Jordanian leaders discuss Gaza ceasefire, regional developments

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and Jordan's King Abdullah II discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip and the region.

During a meeting in the Egyptian capital Cairo, the two leaders emphasized the necessity of fully implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement and facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza without restrictions, as well as the swift commencement of early recovery and reconstruction in the strip.

They further reiterated the firm stance of Egypt and Jordan rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people outside their land.

The two leaders stressed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital is the only path to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
