Mexican president reaffirms country's independence, sovereignty
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Thursday that Mexico maintains a firm and unwavering stance in defense of its independence and sovereignty.
The president affirmed that national sovereignty is not at risk and rejected any possibility of the country once again becoming a colony or protectorate of any foreign power, during the commemoration of the 109th anniversary of the 1917 Constitution held in the central state of Queretaro, about 200 kilometers from Mexico City.
"Mexico will not return to the regime of privilege and corruption. Mexico will not return to being a colony or protectorate of anyone. And Mexico will never surrender its natural resources," Sheinbaum said.
