Ukraine secures 38 bln USD in defense aid from Western partners
Ukraine has secured nearly 38 billion U.S. dollars in defense aid from its Western partners for 2026, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced Friday.
The aid, one of the largest defense support budgets ever approved for Ukraine, was announced during the recent meeting of the NATO-led Ukraine Defense Contact Group, Fedorov said on Telegram.
The aid includes more than 2.5 billion dollars for Ukrainian drones, more than 500 million dollars for the "Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List," 2 billion dollars for air defense, as well as funds for artillery ammunition, training, maritime capabilities and other areas, Fedorov noted.
Ukraine has also agreed with a number of European partners on the urgent supply of missiles for the Patriot systems from its warehouses, he added.
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group held its 33rd meeting in Brussels on Thursday.
