Netanyahu says 70 pct of Iran's steel production capacity destroyed

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that the Israeli air force has destroyed 70 percent of Iran's steel production capacity.

Speaking at a situation assessment with Defense Minister Israel Katz, army chief Eyal Zamir, and other senior officers in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu said, "This is a tremendous achievement that deprives the IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guard Corps) of both funding sources and the ability to produce large quantities of weapons."

He added that together with the United States, Israel will continue "eliminating commanders, and bombing bridges and infrastructure."

Referring to the Lebanese front, Netanyahu said that "we are continuing to forcefully strike at Hezbollah and expand the security zone and firmly establish it to protect the communities of the north."

The remarks came amid heightened tensions following joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran starting on Feb. 28, to which Iran and its regional allies responded with attacks on Israeli and U.S. interests across the Middle East.
