Pakistani, Iranian FMs hold phone talks on regional developments

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss recent regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability, his office said on Thursday.



During the conversation, the two sides exchanged views on issues of mutual concern and reaffirmed the importance of continued diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Iran.



The Iranian foreign minister thanked Pakistan for facilitating the earlier repatriation of Iranian nationals from seized vessels, while appreciating Islamabad's continued diplomatic and humanitarian support in this regard.



The two sides reiterated their commitment to maintaining close coordination on regional matters, the statement added.
