Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye convene in Cairo to discuss U.S.-Iran MoU

The Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye convened in Cairo on Sunday for discussions focused on the recently signed peace memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran.

In a joint statement, the ministers welcomed the signing of the U.S.-Iran MoU, viewing it as a constructive step towards de-escalation and ending a conflict that had posed significant risks to regional security and stability, energy markets, international maritime routes, global supply chains, and international trade.

They commended the efforts undertaken by regional and international actors that contributed to facilitating the understanding and emphasized the importance of the faithful implementation of the commitments undertaken by the parties concerned.

The ministers emphasized the importance of achieving a swift and successful conclusion to the subsequent phase of negotiations, which aims to reach a lasting, verifiable, and mutually acceptable solution to the remaining issues.
