2 killed in Canada helicopter crash

Two people were killed on Tuesday after a helicopter crashed in a remote area off the coast of British Columbia, Canada, local media reported.



The Hughes 500 helicopter was conducting forestry operations in Loughborough Inlet when the crash occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. local time (1315 GMT) near Knight Inlet, located north of Vancouver Island, CTV News reported.



There were three people on board at the time of the crash.



The pilot and a forestry worker died, and there was one survivor, said the report, without disclosing the individual's identity.



Transportation Safety Board of Canada said in a statement that a team of investigators will arrive on site Wednesday morning and gather information and assess the occurrence.
