Indonesian helper charged with murder over death of 93-year-old woman

Police have charged a 52-year-old Indonesian domestic helper with one count of murder over the death of a 93-year-old woman in Tak Long Estate. The case will appear at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts on Wednesday morning.



The woman was found unconscious at a unit in Tak Yiu House on October 11 at around 8am and was taken to United Christian Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9.12am.



Hospital staff later reported the case to police. Initial investigations found injuries to the woman's face, neck, chest and abdomen, suspected to have been caused by hand.



Police arrested the helper in Tak Long Estate on October 12 on suspicion of murder. Sources said the alleged offence may have stemmed from fatigue or friction over long-term caregiving.
