Iran warns U.S., Israel of more severe military response

Iran warned that any further "miscalculation" by the United States and Israel would trigger a more severe response from Iranian armed forces, as Tehran announced plans to establish a regional authority to oversee digital data flows amid escalating tensions.

Ali Abdollahi, chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, said in a statement carried by Iranian media that if the United States and Israel were truly capable of following through on their threats against Iran, they would have done so by now.

Also on Sunday, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei said on X, "Iran's armed forces have prepared a more devastating plan than the 12- and 40-day wars for a new adventure."

Noting recent "ramblings and repeated threats" from U.S. and Israeli officials, he warned that "Iran's new operational plan will not proceed with rules that they know."

Meanwhile, Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf "kindly advised" governments, funds, and firms in the West Asia region "to give no resources to any AI or data company aiding invasions (against Iran) or killing children." Qalibaf said Iran will set up a new authority to control the regional flow of digital data, which will be named "the Persian Gulf Data Authority."

The remarks came amid the escalation of the threat rhetoric against Iran.
