13 terrorists killed in clash with security forces in NW Pakistan
Thirteen terrorists were killed in a clash with security forces in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Thursday.
The security forces conducted operations in Bannu and Kurram districts of the province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement.
During the operation in Bannu, intense fire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists, as a result of which eight terrorists were killed, the ISPR said.
Separately, five terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Kurram district of the province.
The ISPR added that the killed terrorists remained actively involved in attacks against security forces as well as the target killing of civilians in the area.
Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate the presence of other terrorists from the area, it added.
The military said the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
