Factory fire breaks out at S. Korea's Siheung, level 1 emergency response issued

A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at an SPC Samlip factory in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, with no immediate reports of casualties, according to Yonhap News Agency.



Fire officials received a report of a blaze inside the factory and issued a Level 1 emergency response at 3:06 p.m., mobilizing equipment from three to seven fire stations. About 30 fire engines and some 70 firefighters were dispatched to the scene to contain the fire.



The involved facility primarily processes food products, including baked goods and frozen foods, according to the company's official website.



Police and fire authorities are conducting searches for possible victims while working to bring the flames under control. An investigation into the exact cause of the fire will begin once the situation is stabilized.
