33 Palestinians killed by Israeli fire in Gaza during Eid al-Adha
Gaza-based health authorities reported on Sunday that Israeli forces killed 33 Palestinians and wounded more than 130 others during the Eid al-Adha holiday, which began on Wednesday and ended on Saturday.
In its daily report, the authorities said that the death toll in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 72,939, while the number of wounded has reached 172,927.
The report indicated that a number of victims remain trapped under the rubble and in the streets, and that ambulance and civil defense teams are facing significant difficulties reaching them.
Meanwhile, Raed Hussein, director of al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, warned of the hospital's imminent closure due to a severe electricity crisis and the failure of both the main and backup generators.
He noted in a press conference held in the hospital that the crisis has begun directly impacting vital departments, particularly operating rooms.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian man was killed Sunday by Israeli fire at the separation barrier in the town of al-Ram, north of Jerusalem, according to Palestinian sources.
