Twelve people killed in Missouri plane crash
Eleven skydivers and a pilot died in the crash of a private plane on Sunday in Butler, Missouri, aircraft operator Skydive Kansas City confirmed.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred near the Butler Memorial Airport, about 100 km south of Kansas City, Missouri.
The names of those involved will not be released until all next of kin have been notified.
It added that it is working closely with local authorities, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
The plane took off from Butler Memorial Airport and crashed a short time later
