Wang Jianjun, 58, served as vice-chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission from 2021 to 2025.
The commission oversees and regulates the country’s financial markets, from stock and bond trading to company listings.
A court in eastern Shandong province found Wang had leveraged his roles between 2005 and 2019 “to secure benefits for entities or individuals in areas such as company listings, corporate financing and the awarding of contracts”.
