Gas leak at S. Korea's subway station forces trains to bypass stop

A gas leak at South Korea's subway station forced trains to temporarily bypass the stop, prompting emergency responses, according to Yonhap news agency on Tuesday.

Carbon dioxide was leaked at a subway station in the capital Seoul at about 10:40 a.m. local time while conducting a fire safety inspection.

Passengers and station staff were forced to evacuate, while trains in both directions were forced to temporarily bypass the station without stopping.

The train operations were normalized some 20 minutes later as the carbon dioxide was fully vented.

No casualties were reported from the incident.
