The time I feel my life is most at risk is on the day of a live performance. Even if I make a mistake on stage or hit the wrong note, it’s not like I’ll get physically injured. Still, with just the slightest movement, sweat pours out, time compresses, and I clearly feel my mind and body screaming, “This is a matter of life and death.” It might sound silly to draw a parallel with “TOKYO MER: Mobile Emergency Room – Nankai Mission”, but as a musician inspired by this film, I tried to confront my own “vulnerability” and define what “strength” means in my own way. — Iyori Shimizu
