To coincide with the upcoming publication of her first autobiographical novel “Vivarium: Ado and Me”, Ado drops a new single, also titled “Vivarium” (original Japanese title: ビバリウム). *Vivarium refers to a small, enclosed environment for keeping living things, serving as a metaphor for the closet where Ado honed her craft in isolation before stepping onto the world stage. This track is based on the novel, with lyrics and composition by Ado herself, serving as a musical accompaniment to the written memoir. The arrangement was handled by Takafumi “CO-K” Kokei, who serves as bandmaster for Ado’s live performances. It sublimates Ado’s inner cry—suffering from self-denial yet seeking light somewhere—into a powerful VOCAROCK song, weaving it into a band sound that races like the wind sweeping through Tokyo’s skyscrapers.
