The Centre for Food Safety urges the public not to consume several types of pre-packaged turkey bacon from the United States. Through the Food Incident Monitoring System, it was learned that the United States Department of Agriculture issued a notice stating that the product may be contaminated with the pathogenic bacteria Listeria and is being recalled.

The name of the problematic turkey bacon product is "Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original". The product or batch number is 12 ounces (071871548601/RS40) and the expiration date on or before this date is July 18 to August 2, 2025; 36 ounces (071871548748/RS19, RS40 and RS42) and the expiration date on or before this date is July 23 to September 4, 2025; and 48 ounces (071871548793/RS19, RS40 and RS42) The expiration date on or before this date is July 18 to September 4, 2025.

The CFS is following up on the incident. Preliminary investigation found that the merchant City Super Limited had sold one of the affected products, with 12 ounces marked on the packaging and expiration date on or before July 26, 2025. The merchant has stopped selling and removed the affected product from the shelves and started recalling it in accordance with the instructions of the CFS. Citizens can call the merchant hotline 2736 3866 during office hours to inquire about the recall of the product. If the industry holds the affected batch of products, it should stop using or selling them immediately. The center will continue to follow up on the incident and take appropriate action, and the investigation is still ongoing.
