South Korea's Korean Air said Tuesday that it will purchase 103 next-generation aircraft from Boeing, 19 spare engines from GE Aerospace and CFM International, and a comprehensive engine maintenance program with GE Aerospace.
The total purchase was valued at about 50 billion U.S. dollars, including 36.2 billion dollars for Boeing aircraft and 13.7 billion dollars for spare engines and a 20-year engine maintenance service contract, the Asian country's flag carrier said in a statement.
The signing ceremony was held in Washington after South Korean President Lee Jae-myung's summit meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
It marked the largest deal in the airline's history. The aircraft were scheduled for a phased delivery through the end of 2030.
