Dr. Pan Dongping's family faces injunction from neighbors in Bel-Air

27/8/2025 19:27
Dr. Pan Dongping, a leading liver cancer expert and a family member who has recently garnered public attention due to the award-winning medical website "Drugs for Peace," has been sued by neighbors for noise pollution at their Bel-Air residence.

The plaintiff, On Ning, lives downstairs from the Pan family's Bel-Air unit. The respondents are Pan Dongping, his wife Pang Wing-chi, their two daughters, and anyone else living in the same unit.

On Ning filed an injunction application last year, and a High Court master referred the case to the District Court in November. A settlement conference was held in closed chambers at the District Court today, with the public not permitted to attend. Pan Dongping was not present and was represented by his lawyer.

In the writ, the plaintiff requested an injunction restraining the defendant from emitting, causing, or permitting the production of noise, music, or other sounds. The charges include, but are not limited to, piano noise, nuisance, harassment, damage, and interference with the rights, interests, land, comfort, and convenience of others. The defendant is also required to pay compensation for alleged breaches of the building's deed of mutual covenant.

The Judiciary website indicates that the case has been rescheduled for February 9, 2021, for a case management summons, which will take 20 minutes.
