Due to the remnants of tropical cyclone Danas and the active southwest monsoon, which brought heavy rain and strong thunderstorms, the Education Bureau expects the weather to continue to be bad today. In order to ensure the safety of students and considering that schools across Hong Kong have gradually started their summer vacation, it is announced that all day schools will be closed today. The registration procedures for Form One admission originally scheduled for today will be suspended and will be changed to next Monday.
Child care centers, neighborhood support child care programs, and after-school care services for preschool children or primary school students under the Social Welfare Department will not be open today.
The Home Affairs Department has opened additional temporary shelters in Sai Ying Pun, Sai Kung, Tsuen Wan, Lei Muk Shue and Sham Tseng.
District Offices have coordinated with other departments and institutions to strengthen preparedness, and mobilized district councilors, district "three councils" and caring teams to disseminate the latest weather information to residents who are easily affected by flooding.
The Steering Committee on Response to Extreme Weather urges citizens to continue to remain vigilant, In bad weather, stay away from dangerous places such as rivers and slopes, stop all water activities, and pay attention to the latest information released by the government.
