2 Hezbollah members killed in Israeli airstrike on S. Lebanon

Two members of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah were killed on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon.

The Emergency Operations Center of Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that the strike targeted a vehicle on a road linking the village of Safad al-Battikh and the town of Jmeijmeh, killing two Lebanese citizens.

A Lebanese security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the victims as two Hezbollah members.

Separately, Lebanon's official National News Agency reported that a ballistic missile was spotted on Sunday over the town of Ghazieh in southern Lebanon, attributing it to a ballistic missile test conducted by an Israeli company in northern Palestine.

A ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel, brokered by the United States and France, has been in effect since Nov. 27, 2024, ending months of hostilities that erupted alongside the Gaza war.
