Shipyard explosion at Stonecutters Island leaves six people with minor injuries.

A boat caught fire and exploded at the Stonecutters Island government dock, injuring six people.



According to preliminary reports, Marine Department staff were inspecting a Marine Department vessel experiencing an engine malfunction at 10:30 a.m. when the explosion occurred.



Those in the vicinity sustained minor injuries and were transported to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment.



The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation to determine the root cause of the issue.
