Guided tours of Grade I historic building Haw Par Villa will add a vr exhibition

16/5/2025 6:17
Starting today, a new virtual reality exhibition has been added to the guided tour of Haw Par Villa, a Grade I historic building. By wearing a virtual reality device, participants can explore the details of the relief carvings of the "Ten Kings Hall" in the former Tiger Balm Garden and use the interactive interface to learn about the relevant historical and cultural background. In addition to the virtual reality, there are also exhibition boards and project videos introducing the "Ten Kings Hall" on site.

Participants will also be able to visit Haw Par Villa's private gardens and most of its interior spaces.

The guided tour is free of charge and is held every Friday to Sunday and public holidays, except the first to third day of the Lunar New Year. It is conducted in Cantonese and has four sessions per day, with 24 people per session. The tour guide will lead you to visit the interior of the villa and the private garden, and introduce the history, architectural features and cultural value of the mansion, followed by a visit to the "Virtual Reality Tiger Balm Garden 'Ten Kings Hall' Exhibition". Interested parties can make an appointment to join the guided tour at the Antiquities and Monuments Office website (www.amo.gov.hk/tc/visitor-centre/docent-services/public/haw-par-mansion/index.html).

Haw Par Mansion is located at 15A Tai Hang Road, Hong Kong. It was the mansion of former overseas Chinese businessman Hu Wenhu and was rated as a Grade I historic building in 2009.
