Police arrested a mainland man who attempted to flee to Thailand after robbery

A second-hand brand-name bag store on Hart Road, Tsim Sha Tsui was robbed on Wednesday. The suspect fled to Thailand and was intercepted and sent back to Hong Kong in the evening. The police recovered most of the stolen goods in his suitcase.
Police arrested a 30-year-old mainland man on suspicion of "robbery" at Hong Kong Airport in the evening. He is currently being detained for investigation.
Thai media reported that the man arrived in Bangkok on Wednesday afternoon with more than a dozen brand-name handbags and cash in various currencies. Thai law enforcement officers found suspected stolen goods in his luggage with a total value of more than HK$2.4 million.
The incident happened at about 1 pm on Wednesday. A second-hand brand-name bag store on the upper floor of Hart Road was robbed. The 49-year-old person in charge fainted after someone covered his mouth and nose with a towel. His hands were tied to his chest. After waking up, he used a saw to untie them himself. It was found that 14 handbags, a necklace and two mobile phones were lost. The value of the money was nearly 3 million yuan.
After investigation, the police found that the thief took a flight to Bangkok, Thailand that afternoon, and immediately contacted the Thai police for assistance.
