22 students hospitalized for suspected food poisoning in Japan's Osaka

Altogether 22 high school students staying at a hotel in Sakai city of Japan's Osaka were taken to the hospital after experiencing symptoms such as vomiting following dinner, local media reported.



The emergency services received a call shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday from a high school teacher reporting that several students were vomiting at a hotel, national broadcaster NHK reported.



According to local fire authorities, the students had been in Osaka to participate in a soccer event and fell ill after having dinner at the hotel.



While none of the students are in serious condition, the local health office suspects food poisoning and has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the illness.
