Thailand's constitutional court to deliver verdict on PM ethics case

13/8/2025 19:59
Thailand's Constitutional Court announced on Wednesday it will hand down its verdict for a case against suspended Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra over her allegation of ethics violations on Aug. 29.

In a statement, the court said it will schedule a hearing for two witnesses, including Paetongtarn and the secretary-general of the National Security Council, on Aug. 21.

The petitioner or respondent who wishes to submit a closing argument must file a written statement with the court by Aug. 27, it added.

On July 1, the court suspended Paetongtarn after accepting the case petitioned by a group of senators seeking to remove her for seriously breaching ethical standards over a leaked phone call on the border issue with Cambodia.
