Vietnam introduces special incentives to attract science talents

The Vietnamese government has issued a decree offering special recruitment and preferential policies for chief engineers and architects, aiming to attract talents in science, technology and innovation, local media VnExpress reported Friday.
Under the newly issued decree effective from Oct. 1, 2025, qualified personnel will receive competitive salary packages, including housing support or rental allowances. Together with their families, they will also enjoy benefits such as healthcare, vacation and annual leave.
Foreign experts will be exempt from visa requirements while working in Vietnam, according to the decree.
Chief engineers are required to have at least 10 years of continuous working experience, while the chief architects are required to have five to seven years of experience.
