Venezuela says Trump remarks on CIA intervention

Venezuela's government on Wednesday expressed rejection to a statement by U.S. President Donald Trump in which he publicly admitted to authorizing the CIA to conduct covert operations in the South American country. The Venezuelan government said the statement constituted a violation of international law and the United Nations charter. It added that U.S. actions aimed to legitimize a "regime change" operation with the ultimate goal of seizing Venezuela's oil resources.
